Parents, siblings and other relatives of Chadron State College students who are on campus for Family Day festivities this weekend will have plenty to keep them busy.

The CSC theatre department's production of "Godspell" is Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hall. Tickets may be obtained at the door, or by contacting the CSC box office.

Sports fans will have the opportunity to see CSC's football, volleyball and rodeo teams in action.

The volleyball team will play Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foes Fort Lewis on Friday and Mesa State on Saturday. Each match starts at 7 p.m. in Armstrong Gym.

The Eagles' football team will attempt to stay unbeaten in RMAC play when it takes on Western New Mexico at noon Saturday. Prior to the game, CSC's players and their parents will be introduced in front of the crowd at Don Beebe Stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to rent the jersey of their favorite Eagles' football player by visiting the Student Center that morning. A post-game reception will be at Country Kitchen following the game.

CSC's annual intercollegiate rodeo will be at the Dawes County Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday. The action gets under way at 7 p.m. Friday, with performances at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday morning, six families with at least three generations of CSC alumni will be presented Family Tree Awards during a brunch in the Student Center. Other scheduled activities taking place at or near the Student Center on Saturday include horse-drawn tours and "wax candles."

Some special dining events also are planned this weekend. The CSC music department will raise funds with a pancake breakfast, which is open to the public, at Memorial Hall 7-10 a.m. Saturday. A southern Creole style lunch will be served later that day in the cafeteria for families who made reservations. In addition, registration is not required for Sunday's brunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.
